Situation
---------
We are using Meta Frame 1.8 and Nfuse 1.51,
I am able to publish apps, and login and run apps
while on our network internally.

While on the internet, by modem from another location, I can reach the site, and login and then when I click on the icons for the applications I have published, I get
error messages like the following.

Cannot connect to the Citrix Server

The Citrix Server you have selected is not accepting connections.

We have all the ports opened up, so there should be no problem there, I can ping the address of the citrix servers from the outside, and we are stumpted!!! any ideas?
i would love to get this software running, I know I have to be very close to making it happen, your help might make it work! -- Thanks in advance.

Since you mentioned having the ports open, I assume you are using a firewall of some sort. If so, do you have a NAT in place to open your Citrix server to the 'net?

Chances are that your ICA browser is returning the internal IP address to the client requests. On the Citrix server, issue the ALTADDR command to make it recognize the NAT'd address: ALTADDR 100.10.1.10 /YES.

There is also a line to add to the .ICA files created for your published apps. I can't exactly remember the syntax, but it's something like "USEALTADDR=1". Check the NFUSE Documentation...

Hope this helps... - Bill

Following up on your post. I too have this problem. Yes I am statically translating my Citrix server to a valid IP address. This user in question (there are a total of two) use to be able to connect without problems. The only changes to their PC (according to them) is changing to an external modem. I tried to uninstall ICA client. After uninstalling I went to registry and deleted any ica, citrix mentioned values etc. When I reinstalled I had all of the preset connections in there, along with some connection information. I felt if I could completely remove the s/w I could get it to work. All other remote users get in fine.

hi,

my server is 10.0.0.10 , and i think it is exactly the same problem i read .

i have put on my .ica file UseAlternateAddress=1 and
typed altaddr /set myadres.com

i have an IO Error ???????

i dont understand

please help

The altaddr command needs to go to a specific address, not to a URL. For example:

altaddr 131.107.2.200 /set

Hope this helps  - Bill

Try this:
In regedit go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\MSlicensing and elete the key HardwareID. That helped me with a problem we've been having where random PCs suddently got a 'Citrix server is not available' error message and never was able to connect again.

We have setup Metaframe 1.8 with NFuse 1.5 on Windows 2000 server. When i tried to access the published applications within the network, I was successful but when i tried to get access to it via net, i am sometimes successfull and other times it gives me a error stating that the citrix server or the apllication server could not be found.
Both the citrix server and the web server are on the same machine. I am using the Java applet mode for my embedded published applications. How do I resolve this issue and if i were to try to access this page(embedded application) from behind a proxy then how do i get it?
