Connection problems with wireless routers and multiplayer games

I have a Linksys wireless-B router and PCI adapter. I love to play multilayer games, but have been unable to do so since going wireless. Connection to the Internet is no problem. Connecting to a game sever is a huge problem. The two games I am trying to play are "City of Heros" and "Sacred" but when I try to connect I get the "cannot connect to server" message. I have tried to fix this problem by the following steps:

1. Entering the port numbers for the specific servers into my router.
2. Manually entering my IP address, subnet mask, gateway, preferred DNS, and alternate DNS. (no auto-detect)
3. Contacting Linksys and wasting 1 1/2 hours.
4. Turned off all Firewalls
5. Turned off all anti-virus software
6. Entering internal IP as a secondary IP
7. DMZing my IP
8. Contacting tech support for both games (still working with CoH)

And after all that... still no connection. More and more people who have cable (like me) or DSL are wirelessly connecting their computers through routers. The game industry seems unwilling or unable to find a solution. I know from my own research that I am only one of tens of thousands of people working on the problem. I seem to have hit a brick wall with what I can solve on my own and am asking for help, please!
