Connection Problems using vpn

I'm trying to use outlook 2003 on a different ip subnet to connect to my exchange 2003 server through a vpn (using checkpoint NG.) All services are allowed both ways through the vpn.

I can ping the server , join the domain and use resources on the network but the exchange server will not allow me to connect using outlook. If I use OWA and authenticate from the same subnet it works!!!!!!!

I have also added the subnet into the smtp connectors access list.

Does anyone have any suggestions.

Uncertain, but you can try using the IP address rather than the DNS name.
