Here is the situation, I have a Windows Server 2003 machine that is on a different domain, but resides within my LAN. This server is used for data collection in an production environment and has the ability to send out emails in case of a problem. Well, the system that it has to send out emails, does not have any authentication information. it does not ask for port number or anything like that. All that it does is ask for the email address to send the message to and for a email server address...
I do not think that this is working because the exchange server sees this system as an open relay. I would like to be able to setup the exchange server so that there was a connection to the production server so that it could use the exchange server to send out emails.
Can I do this? Does anyone have any guidance on how to go about doing this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks.
