We have a dell server(W2K) 2650 connected to a DMX 1000, and have netbackup client verison 4.5 feature pack 6 on it. And our Master Server is on a Ultra 5 running Solaris 9. The problem is the backup cannot finish due to connection lost with an error 41. The data that we are trying to backup is out on the SAN. Has anyone had this problem or seen this error. Please advise.

Thank you

This is usually a DNS or Networking issue. Do you have the NIC and switch port set to 100 MBps Full Duplex?

41's can come from many sources you have to check the logs. But the type of data can make a differance. For example you have to put a huge timeout value for Lotus Notes. It's not that it needs the time but the figures seem to make it work. Perhaps 300 seconds means 300 miliseconds to some api's. Anyway we get these a lot and have to fix them all the time. NT servers are particully bad, for some reason, perhaps it's what we run on them or the network they sit on.
