Hello,
Firstly, excuse my lack of in-depth technical knowledge.
I have been using Dreamweaver successfully on my Mac for the last year but since working on the new Apple G5 Quad-core Mac I've had issues with connection.
Both my new Mac and my older Mac are on a network. If my old Mac is up and running and I start Dreamweaver on my New Mac, all is fine. If, however I start Dreamweaver on my New Mac and the old Mac is not turned on, I get an error message : "Connection Failed: The server may not exist or it is not operational at this time. Check the IP address and your network connection and try again."
Someone suggested to me that one of the files could be looking for a root_folder on the old mac, therefore needing to see it on the network, but I have now removed all the sites I manage from the new Mac and re-installed Dreamweaver, but this is still a problem. I have no idea what to do next and I really don't understand all you incredibly talented teckie's terms, so any simple explanations would be gratefully received!!
Thanks for your time, if you can be bothered to help.....
Dani
