Connection Error

I am trying to connect to mySQL via Visual Basic and am receiving this error:

(tcx)(myTestConnection)Host '(my computer)' is nto allowed to connect to this mySQL server

I can access this mySQL server just fine if I do so via the web. Any ideas on what is blocking my connection/causing this error?
