I have a branch office that has been dropping the connection once a week or so. Sometimes it might happen serveral times a day, like today. The connection is only down for about a minute, maybe two. Is there anything I can look at on the router to determine if is the connection dropping, or if it is faulty equipment?

What type of connection is it? What type of router for that matter? If it's Frame/T, does it have an external CSU/DSU?

another thing to look at, does it happen during peak traffic? is this shared bandwidth?

My main location has a Cisco 2620xm, the branch is a 1720 series. We have a point to point t1 between us. The main router doesn't drop any of our other branches so I don't think it is that router.

It is not necessarily during peak times. Should I be looking at input errors or something?

I would first look at the "show Log" this may point you in the right direction.

Also look at the "show Interface" to see if you are receiving errors on the interface.

The show log just shows that the status of the connection is going up, then down.

The show int has 743255 input errors on the serial interface. Does that mean it has to be the connection? Good ole SBC?

I'd clear the counters and see how quickly you're getting the errors. It does, however, look like a provider problem.
