My situation is this; I have a Cisco 1600 router with a T1 WIC DSU for my serial interface. This router is my border gateway router to my local LAN.
We are upgrading our circuit to a 3 MB pipe, which are effectively two (2) T1 circuits combined. I have a vendor telling me that I do not need a different WIC to terminate this connection, only an Ethernet port. I plan to implement a Cisco 2600 in place of the 1600 in place now. Is that possible? From my studies and current understanding, there must be some type of terminating device for the circuit to route into, before being channeled into the LAN. This is a full 24 channel T1 circuit that is currently in place now. The upgrade is not happening yet, I am just in the planning stage at this point. I would really appreciate any assistance provided. Thanks all... DLong
