hi,
I have a win2k laptop which I want to share files with a linux machine using a hub. The hub I have is 3Com Home Connect. The NIC card on the linux machine is 3C450 and the laptop has a XirCOM card. I have assigned static IP addresses to both the machines.
Linux - 10.30.2.2
win2k - 192.168.3.47
The linux machine has the FTP/Telnet, etc running
After hooking up the cables with the hub and setting up the NIC card on linux when I try to ping the win2k machine from linux it says
connect:Network is unreachable
The hub shows orange lights whereas under normal operations it is green. Is there something more to be done to make this work. I have used the hub previously to successfully connect a winME machine with the win2k but am unable to do so between these two machines.
