Hi all,

We have 2 warehouses and would like to connect the 2 using fibre optic cable.

The distance is 60m wall to wall, in reality 100m cable.

Laying the cable underground isn't an issue, but, i have no experience in fibre optic cabling at all. I'm looking for a little advice as to where i might purchase the pre-terminated cable, what connectors to get and the best switches for either end.

Thanks in advance,

Nick.

If you end up using pre-term, be careful pulling it in. Having said that, I personally would go with a 6 fiber Multimode cable with SC ends. SC is a very common connector, and you would have no problem finding panels or patch cables for them.
Use a demarcation point at either end. Much cheaper to replace a patch cord, than to have a tech come out and replace the ends of the cable itself.
Depending on your application, I'm sure anything with a Gbic would be fine. Might be overkill, but then again, I'm not a datahead.

pre-terminated is available from any cable vendor or do a google search for pre-trminated fiber

a alternative would be to pull the fiber and hire someone to terminate and test

I would suggest outdoor rated fiber in conduit
