Here's the problem: I have a home office that I need to keep almost completely seperate of my personal computers. I use a DLINK Wireless Access point for 2 wireless laptops. The subnet for the router is 192.168.0.0/24.
On my home office I have two computers. One is a Linux gateway using IP Masquerading and the other is a Windows 2000 workstation with a multi-function connected. It's subnet is 192.168.5.0/24.
On the Linux gateway I have to NICs: eth0 for the personal subnet and eth1 for the business subnet. The Linux box is a DHCP client to get it's IP from the router for eth0, and is a DHCP server (eth1) for the Windows 2000 machine (so in the future I can just drop new machines in as needed with minimal configuration).
The setup kinda looks like this so far:
Internet
|
|--- DLINK Router
| |
| |--- Linux Gateway
| |
| |--- Windows 2000 w/Multi-function
|
|--- Computer 1 (Windows XP Wireless Laptop)
|--- Computer 2 (Windows XP Wireless Laptop)
|--- Computer 3 (Windows XP Desktop)
|--- Computer 4 (Xbox)
Basically what I'm trying to do at a low/no-cose basis is be able to give access to one of the wireless laptops to view/share on the business subnet. I already know I could go out and spend another $150 on another wireless access point, but that's just not feasable right now. I've already tried to set up FreeS/WAN on the Linux Gateway, but it's been impossible trying to find decent documentation to aid in my special circumstance.
Can I grant access to one of my wireless machines across subnets given the setup I explained above? If so, where would I begin looking for how to do this? I'm a true do-it-yourselfer, so if anything I am at least looking for references to documentation that can aid me in this type of circumstance. Thank you in advance for any and all help that can be provided. I do hope I'm not the only one who has had to do something like this.
