I am trying to connect 2 linksys BEFSR41 routers together via their WAN ports. The reason I am trying to do this is I want to filter traffic over a LAN segment. I need the IP addresses of the LAN segments that on either side of the routers to be on the same subnet, 10.5.55.0

The IPs assigned to the WAN ports are 10.5.56.30/31 and are connected via a crossover cable. I can't get any traffic to go from the LAN side of the first router to the other router.

Pleas help

the /31 subnet does not give you any usuable addresses. You'll need to make that a /30, so that you have 4 addresses 2 of them are usable.

I mistyped my original post. I am using 10.5.56.30 and 10.5.56.31 to connect the WAN ports I am using a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0
