Okay, here's my problem: I've got a dsl modem that connects to my computer via a usb connection. I was wondering if there's some way I can plug the modem to a usb hub along with the two computers connecting to the hub and get internet access on both computers, or will I need some other kind of connection. Thanks.

only if you can get a hub that will support the USB and rj45
connection. If that is done then you will need to run a program such as win poet 2.0 on both machines to access the
internet. Your probably better off getting your provider to install another modem with a RJ-45. Good Luck !! J.Fisher CCNA

My thoughts are this: If you have a hub and a nic for each computer, it could be possible. Setup the nics to work a local tcp/ip network. Use something like Class C 192.168.0.1 - 255 with a subnet of 255.255.255.0 and then use the USB modem on the computer you will access the internet with. Then just run a proxy server on that computer and point the second computer to it using the lan. John D. Saucier
