Its an understatement to say I'm new to the Linux world, but eager to learn nonetheless.

I have a fairly simple windows 2000 network with 200 Pro workstations. I need to connect the Linux box (Mandrake 9.0) to a shared printer. I can easily mount and browse any shared folder, but I cannot figure out how to connect to the printers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't use mandrake but here are the basics. You need lpd or cups running. Then you need to configure a printer. If you are using a GUI printer setup, you will need to know the share name and ip address of the machine the printer is on. You will also need to choose a printer driver for that printer. If you have more than one printer on the network, you may create queues for each printer.
