Connecting to Voice mail via modem

I am dialing in with a Megahertz cc-xj1560 Fax-Modem - I can access Loader overlay programs (i.e. ld 20, 22 etc). How do I flip to Voice Mail? On the local console I type AX at the > prompt. But via the modem, when i type AX I get an error message OVL406.

You need to type AUX for MerMail access.

Is your system an Option 11C? Using the Entopia cad for slot 10? If so after you hit the switch and log in, AX should get you to Meridian Mail, once completed with mail and you Log Off Mail be sure to do a (CNTRL) and right bracket ] then you should be back into the switch. If using a larger system or Meridian Mail EC for option 11C you should have a different modem tied into the mail. Hope that helps. Mike

This works as you descirbe when I am in the telephone room using the Meridian Console, but my problem is when I am dialed in from my remote modem, I am immediatialey into the command mode. entering AX does as descried in my first thread. I can't seem to get into Voice Mail from my modem.

You should probe with your communications programm (example : Procomm ) put in VT-100 emulation .

OVL406 indicates that the Meridian Mail link is already in use. From you shitroom terminal exit from the Mermail window by Holding Ctrl and typing ] (right bracket).
