I have MySQL 4.1 on our Windows 2000 server. I do not have any local GUI tool to build a database on my Windows 2000 workstation. Do I use the DOS command window to create my database on the server from my workstation? If so how do I do this?

Please advise how I can connect into the MySQL database on a Windows 2000 Server?

There are several ways, including::

- Install the "mysql" command-line client program (included in the MySQL package).
- Install a MySQL GUI program, like MySQL Control Centre, or MySQL Administrator and Query Browser.
- Install the MySQL ODBC driver, and use the database interface in OpenOffice.org or MS Access.
