I have a report developed in Crystal Report 5.0. I installed Crystal reports 8.5 developer edition on a windows xp machine. I opened the 5.0 report in 8.5 and now the report is converted to 8.5. In 5.0 to setup a text field all I had to do is select “Database”, “Set Location”, and select the .txt file. But after I setup a text file in 8.5 and try to preview it, it gives me errors. One of the errors I get is:

The library “P2bbde.dll” cannot be found. Please check your installation.

I tried to create a new report and link a text file but it wouldn’t let me select a text file. So my questions are how do I link a text file if I am creating a new report. And why am I getting the above error in my old report?
When I was using 5.0 it was a piece of cake. I don't understand why it is so difficult in 8.5. It should be the opposite, 8.5 should be easier than 5.0.

Try creating a CR Text ODBC connection to it, note that you'll find that CR has installed a Text Odbc driver.

You can also use the Microsoft Text driver.
