Hello everyone, I'm a beginner when dealing with SQL Server 2k.
my PC is running only windows 2k, I can only install SQL server 2k Personal edition on it. Am I able to connect to this server from another machine? So far I cannot connect to it via ODBC or using VBA script.

When I first ran SQL server as an instance on my machine and not as the default local Server, I was able to connect to it using both methods from another machine, but since I was only running one server on this machine, I thought I could clean it up by uninstalling everything and reinstalling the server as the local default. But now I cannot connect to it from another machine, when before I could. In my enterprise manager screen, my database's name say (local)(Windows NT). Before I uninstalled and reinstalled therre was two different server groups, tthe local one similar to the one above and a gorup called PCNAME\PCNAME. I was able to connect to PCName\PCNAME just fine. Any information will greatly help me. Thank you.

from your other machines you should be able use the pcname to connect to it. If you arent able to, check service manager and make sure the sql server service is running.

If this fails, just delete the local from enterprise manager, and re-add but select the pcname from the list of available servers.
