I have VB6.0 Enterprise Edition on Windows 98 . I have loaded SQL Server 6.5 which comes with this package. I cannot make a connection to SQL Server.
I get the following error:
Unable to connect: SQL Server is unavailable or does not exist.
The error number is:
OS Error 2106.
I assigned the server name the same as the name I have placed on the computer(Bachenot).
Any help would be appreciated.

Have you checked if the SQL server service is running correctly.

If not go to the service manager of SQL server and double click the green traffic light.
