I have an account with Interland and am trying to connect to my SQL server db I have with them. At home I can do it OK with the IP address and login information they provided me. However at work I cannot connect, it tells me the server does not exist. I can ping the server OK, but cannot connect from work. We are not running any firewalls that should be blocking what I can access, but do go through a switch to get to the Internet. Does anyone know what I could do to get connected (Interland has not been any help)?

Try to telnet to port 1433 on the ISP SQL Server. If you can not then there is a firewall somewhere blocking you.

Many ISPs block port 1433 since the SQL Slammer attach. Your companies ISP may be doing this.
