Connecting to SAP R/3

Hi!

I'm implementing an internet system running on asp but this application has to update data into an existing sap r/3 system.

anyone knows whether this is possible?

I know it can be done if the application is using Lotus Notes with Lotus Connector to SAP R/3. But what if i'm using ASP? Can't find much help from the microsoft website on this...
