I have been working on a web based application that uses two servers (1 web and 1 db (pervasive)). Essentially the web application establishes a DSN based connection to the database server. After an installation of Sp4 the connection does not work. Do I need to install the same level of service pack on the web server in order to achieve connectiivty?

Thanks in advance.

Starting with SP3, the client and the server do not need to be at the same SP level. What is the error you get when trying to use the connection? info@mirtheil.com

The error I am getting is quite strange. I have been trying from two different methods to connect to the destination machine (main server) and have been unsuccessful at each.

1) I installed pervasive on the web server and when trying to connect using the Pervasive Control Center (PCC) I am able to connect to the machine and I can view the databases, but I can't see the tables or stored procedures in those databses. These objects are viewable when I use PCC on the main server.

2) I created a DSN (Pervasive Client Interface) on the web server to point to the database on the main server and when I test the connection to the database using the test button on the DSN setup tool it says connection successful. However, when I try to test the DSN connection to link a table in Access for example, I get an "ODBC Client Interface Unpacking Error" and I am not able to connect to the tables.

Any help would be appreciated as I am quite stuck.

Regards.
