Is it possible with Access database to write any custom macros or functions that would allow to connect to a remote system's internal Oracle db on a mainframe machine with Solaris 2.6 OS (API calls) to export the data to Access from remote system's, update/insert/import data on remote db based on data in Access.
What I am trying to figure out is - possibility to create a single data entry point into Access database and have Access communicate automatically with the remote system to keep data in synch.

Yes - just install the Oracle ODBC or ADO drivers, then you can create pass through queries to get access to the remote data and execute VBA code in Access to run Oracle PL/SQL.
You shouldn't need to write any API calls.
