Can't connect with laptop, nortel doc's is saying to use a 9 pin null modem cable. Does anyone know what kind of null modem cable. Have made up a new cable with the pin outs that nortel has in book (no good)

There's only 1 kind of null modem cable, are you sure your trying to use the right serial port
(ie: COM1, COM2, COM3 ect)

Have tryed to use all of may com ports. There is a null modem cable without handshaking, loop back handshaking, partial handshaking, full handshaking. So what cable is nortel talking about. Have order a null modem cable from APC Standard AT null Modem Full handshake 62372-10, this is the only 9 pin cable I see.

Are you using a USB->Serial adapter? I heard they don't work well with Nortel equipment.

The HP cable, is it a null modem cable? If so, do you have part number?
