I am connecting 2 Cisco switches that are 80 feet apart. I already have a straight cable between the switches so I need a cross-over between the switches. I want to connect a short cross-over cable to the switch and connect to a RJ45 coupler, plug the 80 foot cable into the coupler and plug the other end of the cable to the remote switch. Will this work for sure?

Switch..>X-over cable...>RJ45Coupler...>80 feet cable..>Switch

Sure, although if they are gigabit ports on those switches, all you need is the straight through cable.

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.
