Hey Experts,

I have SQL 2000 (old I know) and access 2010. I have looked up steps on google but once I have managed to get a linked server, I can't query the data even using full qualifiers

(select count (*) from [server]..
etc etc.....) but it comes up with table not found.

I have now deleted the linked server to start from scratch. Can anyone point me to a page with specific instructions, type of connection I should select etc. or help me out?

Also, can you kick off a macro in access from SQL?

Thanks

M.

I have not yet used MS Access 2010, although I have it...

Have you tried to use a pass-thru query to access the SQL Server 2000 back-end? That is my typical approach since Linked Tables in MS Access are very slow, especially for large data sets.

I hope this was helpful...
