connecting sco5 and windows 9x using tcpip

i am tring to connect sco open server rel. 5 with windows 9x using tcpip. but it is not got connected i am using rtl8029 chipset ethercard on both side and c class address.
sco locally ping to its ip address 222.222.222.123 and even telnet to this address. but it is not ping the window system
phisycal network is ok.i tried by installing window on the both systems and they ping to each other
please help me out

You don't give ip address of windows machine, it must be 222.222.222.xxx if you are using the default class c subnet mask.
 
Question: Can you ping the SCO box from your win9x client.

Do you have a gateway router in place ?

It should like maybe you need to set the default route on the SCO box.

route add default xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx would most likely be the same gateway your win9x machine uses.

This however may not be the problem. If you post back we can get this working.
