HI,
I have a Chaintech MP4M266A motherboard with ATAPI-6 (DMI-ATA-100) interface. I currently purchased a Hitachi 82Gb HD whihc turned out to have SATA interface. The old ribbon cable doesn`t fit it. I am only a user not an IT specialist, so had no clue about the current changes in interfaces. Is there any way to connect the new HD to the old motherboard? Cable type or other tips, please!

Thank you very much!

Clarissa

buy a sata disk controller card(pci or so). That will be the easiest I guess. But you won't be able to boot from the sata disk, disk will only be good as a data disk.

kind rgds,

R.
