Hi All,

I am very new in all the internet things mean how to connect to the internet etc. I just took the DSL Connection in Germany. I make all the connections with ethernet, splitter, modem and PC. In the Modem all the three light
are green. But still i am getting the message "There was no responce". I checked my internetOptions also and this is set to LAN. I all ready wasted two night just doing all this thing. I know all the information with is not enough to find the propbem but please suggest me what to check.
I am using Win2000.

My e-mail is gaur_amar@yahoo.com, or amarg@amdocs.com.

Regards,
Amar

maybe ur modem froze, it happens to me once in a while. I just unplug it and leave it off for like 5 mins then restart the comp. The connection is great after that. Also make sure you installed the right connection on your computer, that could also be a problem.
oh and dont set it to LAN if you dont have a router. My friend did this and he could never get online, try making a new connection just for your DSL modem.

While I agree that the DSL connection can occasionally freeze 5 minutes is a bit much. Normally 30 seconds to a minute is all you need to properly retrain after a lockup.

Back to your issue, are you using some sort of PPPoE client app to connect to your ISP? Most DSL providers nowadays require this to properly authenticate and obtain an IP address to route over the Internet. If you are and you are getting authenticated and online, check your IP configuration by going to start, run. Typing "cmd" should get you to a DOS prompt. From there type "ipconfig /all" to view your IP configs. What do you see there?

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I tried all the thing what i can do and finally i went in the properties of lan and did the disable. After that i tried to connect with my isp and at the time of dialing i enable my LAN. This is working.
But for every new start i have to do the same. it means i have to disable the LAN and then enable it again.
Is this a Hardware problem.

Regards,
Amar
