connecting postgresql with html via jsp

hello....
can anyone please help me!!
i am doing a project and designing my web pages in html... i am using apache tomcat 4.1 as my server, and postgresql as my database.
i need to link my database to my webpages but am having problems...
just dont know where to start....
some1 please help!!

i havn't used java, but usually you connect your webpages(servlets) to the database, not vise-versa

see the JDBC functions on how a DB connection is made

and actually define your goals more precisly it will help you and the ones that would help you
