i have one computer that i need to connect to two servers. one server is a unix based and the other is an old w3.1 server. i have two network cards in the computer, but can't come up with a way to connect. if i set one up for the w3.1 server---sets show up in the second cards tcp/ip boxes. any help would be great.

what OS are you running? What are the IP addresses of the unix and w3 boxes?

Now I know you guys will correct me if im wrong here. It seems to me that you should be able to define the ip addresses on each nic. With that couldn't he add a route on the pc?

i'm running w98se, and i've tryed entering the ip's but what happens is the one ip shows up for both nik cards

When you enter the IP's - there should be a drop down box that will let you choose which NIC you're dealing with. Mike

Email welcome if you're in a hurry or something -- but post in tek-tips as well please, and I will post my reply here as well.

Why use 2 NICs? Why not just use one and use a hub (which can be gotten for about 30 bucks @ Best Buy)? Windows 9X has never seemed to like 2 NICs very well. Mike Wills
