I try to connect my OKI ML 380 printer to my new laptop (HP Pavilion XP). Because the laptop has no paralel port I bought an Targus Mobile dockingstation(USB) with a paralel port. I tried the XP driver for ML380 and also the Epson compatible 24 pins printer.
This does not work.
Who can help me?

I no longer use dot matrix printers so I do not know if this will work.

XP does show the ML380 in its list of printer choices so I assume it has a driver built in.

On eBay, you can find usb to parallel converters. You could get one of those and connect the parallel printer to a usb port on your computer and then try to install and use it.

Tanks for your help. I Bought a USB to Parallel cable. I tried it with both drivers and only the driver from Epson (Epson compatible 24 Pins) works. Unfortunaly it works only direct in an USB port in the notebook. Connecting it via the mobiele dockingstation gives rubish at the beginning of the documents printing.

Best regard,
Gerard van Beek
