I just got an imac for xmas and I'm trying to connect it to my work laptop to copy files. My work laptop is a WinXP Pro machine, and it is part of an NT Domain at work, which makes it hard to set it up for home-networking at home. Is there any way I can get my home imac to see my work-laptop that is a member of a remote NT Domain?

Use either a crossover ethernet cable to directly connect the two computers or get a hub.

On the Mac, go to the System Preferences/Sharing panel and enable Windows filesharing.

Your laptop will now see the Mac as a shared resource in the Network Neighborhood/My Network Places icon on the desktop.
