I recently upgraded from an R11 Definity in MCC cabinets to the CM5 platform (8730 Servers) with G650 carriers.

The Switch has 2 IPSI in each of the 3 port networks. I was asked to add additional power failure phones.

The question is what is the current available at the DB9 connector of the IPSI? I would like to attach 2 of the 808A's to each IPSI, but am concerned about overloading the IPSI.

Any one know the permissible load in mA?

The 808A is documented to draw 80ma (-48vdc.) It measures ~ 52.2 actual
The contacts on an 808A should be able to carry ~ 600 - 700ma@48vdc.

The CFY1B Current Limiter (used in AP, AF & N type carriers) typically support
from 1 - 7 808A Emergency Transfer Panels (~560ma current draw)

The IPSI circuit pack is capable of delivering ~120ma max. In order to use
more than 1 808A, an external 48vdc source can be used to cascade attitional
808A's via it's auxiliary contacts.
