Has anyone ever had to connect a monitor to a BCM 400 to see what actually occurs during the boot up process? If so where do we connect the screen to. Any advise would be appreciated.

remove the grey front panel to get access to the VGA port. but you will only see the boot-up sequence until the windows nt "blue screen", after that the bcm disables output on that port.
