Connecting Merlin Systems with VOIP Gateways

I'm looking to see if anyone has tried connecting merlin systems to replace a point to point T1 with Digium or other VOIP gateways over a VPN.

Multitech has a product called MultiVoip that we used years ago to connect 1 Magix with 2 Partners. It was only limited by the Phone systems. Needed to use analog extension ports and setup hunt groups. Similar to setting up a third party voicemail.
