Hi There!

We have a DID route to a Nortel DMS100 using MFC R2. We want to improve the link by upgradng signalling to EuroISDN PRI.
Do you know if DMS100 can handle that (without SS7)?
What parameters should we consider when doing this?
(We have a lot of PRIs to Ericcson AXE, Siemens EWSD and Cisco but no reference connecting to DMS100).

Keep in mind we use european hierarchy

it would depend on the rls and package levels of the dms. being euro i don't have those pkg numbers

Hi,

The short answer is yes. The DMS 100 can support ETSI PRI but why? There are many other prerequisites; for example, do you have an XPM that will support PRI (SPM? DTCI? LTCI?, etc). Next, as johnpoole mentioned, you'll have to have the correct software.

I assume you are writing from the US. In that case, plain old Q931 PRI (ANSI) will most certainly work. If you're in the UK, then most certainly your loads will support both ETSI v1 and ETSI v2 ISDN (with caveats of course!)

In order to fully answer your question, you'll have to provide more details.
