I'm trying to dial in to a sco openserver 5.04 unix from my home comp, running winxp. Im using lite terminal program and also i'ved tried windows hyper terminal and all I get when connected is ATHAQ0 How do I connect into our unix server from our window xp? Thanks

Has the SCo connected to anything else before? Right now you could have windows or SCO problems and it would help if there were some starting points.
Suspect that you have some speed problems on the windows end but there should at least be some indication that the modems are whistling at each other. Ed Fair

It looks to me like modem AT commands going through your line, which means the SCO system is trying to reset the modem but the commands are going over the line instead. A couple of possibilities would be you are using a non-modem device name for your modem (ie. tty1a instead tty1A), or your modem on the Server end is configured for CD override instead of normal CD operations. It is remotely possible you just need to switch the modem off and back on at the server, but more than likely your modem configuration is not set up correctly for dialin, and that the problem is at the server end.
