Connecting HP Colour Laserjets to AS400

Hi,

We've got loads of HP printers connected to our AS400 using TCP. We've recently bought a couple of colour laserjets and configured them in exactly the same way as we would with the black and white printers but they will not print anything.

I have checked the port settings on a windows PC that does print to one of the laserjets and it is showing 9100, this is the same port number configured on the AS400 DEVD.

Does anyone have any idea why this will not work?

Are you able to ping the new color laserjets?

What did you set for the "Manufacturer type and model" (MFRTYPMDL) parameter ? And what is this set for on an existing HP printer?

You may want to try changing this parameter to *HPCOLORLJ

The printer does reply to pings and the parm is set to HPCOLORLJ
