Hello,

We are using the Windows Legato Network administrator to connect to a Unix Legato server. The user that Legato uses to connect seems to be root@PCNAME. I like it to be username@pcname. Is it possible to set the name that Legato Administrator will use to connect to the Unix server? Now we have to add root@* to the administrators on the Unix servers to administor the Unix server.

Greetings Roy

This isn't my experience. Working with NT4 and Win2K, I can define admins to NetWorker based on the correct user name. I wonder if it could be dependent on the version of Windows in use, what version are you using?

Obviously you'd prefer not to add root@* to your admin list, it blows security wide open. I recommend you don't use * at all, on either side of the @. There is a more secure format you can use, that would be something like:
user=myname,host=mymc
or
user=myname,domain=mydom
but this pre-supposes you can get over the issue of the user being called root. I would still advise you don't use the *.
