Hi,

We're having a problem connecting our omnivers database. We installed Windows XP on a desktop and we installed Progress 8.3B and Progress 9.1C.

We tried to run Progress and Results (a program within Progress). The system came up with the message :

"Can not find omnivers in SERVICES or the SERVICES file is not find in the expected folder."

We looked on our old PC and the folders where this SERVICES file is placed are the same on the new PC. In this file omnivers is placed on the last line (2500/utp). Our supplier of Progress looked for us (a bit) and only saw that we normally do not connect the database with an openlink.

I hope that you can help me out here.

Greetings

Arno

what version of windows was the old pc?
the services file on a Win9x systems is in the c:\windows directory.
the services file on a XP system is in C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc or C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc directory.

Also shouldn't the omnivers line read:
omnivers 2500/tcp
or
omnivers 2500/udp
not
omnivers 2500/utp

Beste Arno,[wavey]

Misschien kan ik je wel verder helpen, wij gebruiken nl. ook Omnivers en Results alsmede Openlink ODBC en Report Builder.

Bel me maar even als je er nog niet uit bent...[thumbsup2]
