I have used my version of 5.0.4 of Lotus Domino numerous times to setup a test server and client on the a NT4 server machine. If I try this exact same procedure on a 2K server, while everything looks right, the Notes server loads and appears to be running just fine, I just can't get the Notes client to find the Notes server. The server doesn't respond. Is 2K running some type of services that need to be turned off in order for the Domino server to run properly in 2K? Is there actually a 2K Lotus Domino build??? I have even tried this with version 5.0.8 that I got from IBM about 2 months ago, with the same result. Something must be interfering with the Domino server in 2K, anybody know what it is?

here's something you might want to look at.

In the client 'setup wizard' you have the field where you enter the servername and there's also a list where you can select things like protocols.

If you select TCPIP only, you get an aditional field where you can enter the server's hostname/ip address.

it might be a good idea to make sure the hostname/ip has a reverse dns entry. or else it will return 'server not responding' immediately without even really trying to contact the server. (if you can't get it to have a reverse dns entry, you can fake one by adding an entry to the hosts file c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts )

hope this is any help
