Connecting Case Cables to MOBO

I am in the middle of installing a asus MOBO into a Eagletech skyhawk case - I have got to the point of connecting the case wires to the MOBO however the manual (for example the reset button) states all the wires have +/- so I am assuming there is a correct and incorrect way of plugging them in. The wires didn't seem to have a +/- on them however they all have one white and one coloured cable. Am I to assume the coloured cable is +?? Or doesn't it matter which way round I plug them??

On a second note I have used an aero7 fan for the CPU - it has a cpu fan lead which I have pluged in, but also a traditional 4 pin power lead (input and output). Do I need to connect this power lead up to?? The other fans have them but I guess this is there primary power.

Any help is welcomed

The Reset wires go to a Momentary switch. As a note some cases do not have a reset switch! Some motherboards use to have a Turbo Switch also. The Power Switch works in a similar way. You push the switch in and it makes the circuit complete and allows you to send a signal to the power supply to either reset or turn the power on/off. +/- is irrelevent. The signal just goes to the switch and then back. It might make a difference if it was a light or an LED. The Hard drive LED has a positive and a negative, but if you get it wrong then the light will not come on. If this happens just turn it around. The power LED is probably similar. The Power LED is a constant on LED if the power switch supply is on and not asleep. Even if the power switch powers down the power supply, the motherboard is receiving some power. It uses a low power signal to look for wake on events such as wake on lan, wake on mouse, wake on modem, wake on keypress. You may or may not have an internal speaker. Some motherboards have their own little speaker or buzzer for beep codes. Some motherboads send text from the bios to screen instead of or to supplement beep codes. Some Asus motherboards have verbal messages now. Nothing like a motherboard that talks back!

For the fan, yes plug it in. That is the power for the fan, the other is for fan monitoring. While on other fans both functions go thru the 3 pin connection yours must need more power than the 3 pin can supply.
As for the switch connections, it is confusing. I have found that I have to just wait and see. The reset doesn't matter, but the HD LED and Power LED do. But you can just reverse these after you see if they light up. Not with the power on of course.
