Hello all,

I need to place two superdomes into a site with a Hyprefabric 1 network.

HF1 cards are (just) supported in the superdome but they're not ideal; there's a physical size limitation which means that you have to remove part of the cabinet - something about allowable bend radius on HF1 cable. So don't do that then.

Other option is to put an HF2 switch with a copper (HF1) module two bridge between HF1 & 2. This sounds ok in theory; the two superdomes would talk HF2 to the fibre part of the switches, the HF1 network would be connected to the copper portion.

This is a large production environment where it will be difficult for me to get down-time. I'm talking to HP technical people and they're making all of the right noises but I'd appreciate comments from people here who've been involved with issues like this in large installations.

Does anyone have any experience of doing this?

Mike
