A little backround then on to my question. My company currently has an Avaya Definity PBX and just purchased a Call Manager. I set up the call manager and it is currently working fine. Now they want to tie the PBX to the call manager so 4-digit dialing is available between the 2. My backround is routers and VOIP (only). I know a little about the Call manager but nothing about the Avaya. We do have an Avaya tech here but he knows nothing about VOIP and the call manager. We want to connect the Avaya to a Cisco router with a NM-HDV-2T1-48 module.

Question: Does anybody know if there is any whitepaper either by Avaya or Cisco to connect these two? I have asked a Cisco Engineer and he has not got back to me yet. Also any suggestions would be appreciated.

Well its pretty easily actually, you need to setup the an ISDN trunk group and signaling group on the definity. make an x-over between the 2 systesm for the T1. Then on the definity you just need to setup UDP and AAR tables

so basically on the definity side

administer ds1 pack
administer trunk group/signal group
administer udp table
administer aar table
administer route pattern

CCM 3.3 supports basic QSIG now, so if you have the QSIG RTU turned on in the definity, you could give that a shot..

email me at chrisccnp@hotmail.com if you need help on either side

Buckweet,

Thanks for the info! I will pass this on to my Avaya technician.
