CONNECTING AVAYA IP OFFICE WITH SL 1000 NEC

Hellow I have one challange to connect between avaya ip office with SLI 1000 NEC IP , Me I want to use H323 Connection is it possible to intergrate this two syatems using H323 and any one have tried to install this

but me Iam dealing with Avaya IP OFFICE I Dont know much to SL1000 NEC ,What is the required to NEC..? SL 1000
What are the issue of licence to NEC....?
What about the phones can operate well in terms of display extension numbers....my worries is almost on NEC ...?

So if any one has tried to intergrate this Scenarior can help me but me I want to LINK them via H323 ,,...?
 
NEC has a document about connecting an SL1100 to a third party PBX using SIP trunks as tie lines. It might be possible to do it with H323 but I've never tried using H323 on the SL1100. Below are NEC's instructions.

You will a VoIP daughter board which comes with 4 SIP trunk licenses and you would need to purchase any additional licenses in packs of 2. The VoIP card has a maximum of 32 channels and comes licensed for 16 channels. There is an additional license to enable the other 16 ports. (In IPO terms it is a VCM32 licensed for 16 channels with only a single 16 port expansion license, and like the IPO the SIP licenses need to be purchased separately.)

The instructions below do not cover routing. They tell you to press a line key to use the tie lines. You would probably need to set up ARS on the SL1100 so that pressing transfer and an extension on the IPO would transfer the call. There are also other programming steps involving setting up the VoIP daughter board on the SL1100.

Here are the instructions from NEC on setting up SIP tie lines:

Yes, it is possible to set up a basic SIP Trunk Tie Line between the SL1100 and a 3rd party phone system using Non-Registered SIP Trunks, assuming the other PBX is also capable of SIP Trunk Tie Lines.

The SL1100 must have a VoIP Daughter Board Installed & SIP Trunk Licenses. The base SL1100 comes with 4 SIP Trunk Licenses. If more than 4 SIP Trunks are required you will need additional SL-IP-SIPTRK-2 LIC for every two additional SIP Trunks needed. If you do not have the license you may test with the 10 Day Demo License by setting PRGM 90-37 to 10 days, then rebooting the SL1100 (Programming for 90-37 must be done via a Telephone).

Minimum Required Programming on the SL1100 side:
1) 10-63 DHCP Client = Off (If Manually assigning IP address. Recommended)
2) 10-12-09 Set the IP address of the SL1100 VOIP DB.
3) 10-12-10 Set the Subnet Mask of the SL1100 VOIP DB.
4) 10-12-03 set the Default Gateway address of the SL1100.
5) Set a 2nd IP address in program 84-26 for VOIP DSP resources.
6) Reboot system
7) Once rebooted log back into programming and enable IP Trunk Availability in 10-40-01, and set the number of IP trunks in 10-40-02.
8) Enable System Interconnection in 10-23-01; Set the IP address of the 3rd party PBX in PRGM 10-23-02, and set the leading digit in 10-23-03. (Need 1 entry for all 10 possible leading digits.) See the screen shot below for an example (In this example the 3rd party PBX is connected across a VPN and has an IP Address of: 172.16.2.10):
9) Next for SL1100 system's version 5.00 and higher, go to PRGM 10-36 and set a User ID for Registration ID 00 as shown below (Do not check the registration box). The user ID may be a name or a number:
10) Next set each of the SIP Tie Lines to be type “Tie Line” under program 22-02 for all modes.
11) Assign telephones a Line Key for the Tie Lines (Type *01), or a Trunk Group Key for the Tie Line’s Trunk Group Key, for the Tie Line Trunk Group (Type *02), in program 15-07.

Optional SL1100 settings:

To Modify Outbound Caller ID, enable 20-08-13 (ISDN CLIP) for each Class of Service, then set the Outbound Caller ID to be sent for the SIP Trunks in 21-17 or 21-19 for each Station for SIP Trunks.
 
Thanks Ragnarok for ur are advice ,,,,and your explanation based on SL 1100 ok fine but we have SL 1000,,,
and u explained so much about SIP connection on SL 1100 SO My question is if we are using SIP on SL 1000 Like wahat you explain on SL 11000 MY WORRIE IS ur explanation about SL 1100 We can use also on SL 1000 by using SIP ?and will work as that on SL 1100 or....

Can I have an explation based on H323,,,,Because on SIP I have understood well thanks for ur explanation.....
 
I think the question is why you would insist on doing it with H.323?

SIP is a more standardized protocol that's more likely to work they way you want.

janni78, I think he wants to use the H.323 trunks because from the Avaya IP Office perspective this would be a much easier implementation. It would involve a few mouse clicks.

Honestly, I've never tried to do anything with H.323 on the SL1100. There are programming settings for H.323 in the Programming Manual, but the SL1100 manual was adopted from the NEC SV manuals and as a result there are some options that the SL1100 won't do that are still in the manual. H.323 is an example. There are settings related to H.323 trunks but when you create IP trunks on the SL1100 "SIP" is the only option you have.

There are options in the manual for H.323 extensions but I suspect those are not supported either and even if they were you would have a very difficult time trying to get an H.323 trunk on the IP Office to authenticate and function properly as an H.323 extension on the SL1100. I think SIP is your only option.
 
I guess being lazy is a valid explanation if that's the case, although I've never felt exhausted after setting up a SIP trunk on IPO.
People been telling him on both forums to do it with SIP so since he came here for answers that should be the path to take.
