Here is the situation...

Want to connect my first Linksys , WRT54G to the neighbors Apple, Airport; in client mode, then attach the second Linksys, WRT54G to the first, allowing for broadcasting of the internet via the second (AP mode) WRT54G for my use on the front side of the house as the signal is to weak. I am paying my neighbor $100 a year to use his broadband internet, so I would like to use it while in the solarium relaxing.

Please advise how to set this up. My attempts have failed. I connected my router in client mode to his apple router/ap on channel 10, but when I plug the second WRT54G (AP mode-channel 1) into the first (client mode channel 10), the client mode router connects to the AP mode router instead of the Apple airport router. Thus making a round-robin internetless connection. I am all confused and about ready to give up. This is my first ever distress signal. Help I may go bald pulling out my hair lol!

Both WRT54G routers are running the latest Alchemy, Seavsoft firmware.

Unfortunately his router/AP (Apple) does not support WDS, and is unlikely to support it unless he upgrades to the new airport extreme version.

I can supply screen captures to show my routers setup if that will at all help.

Also is it possible to connect my two WDS routers to his non-WDS Apple router, that would just make life easier.
