hi,

I curretnly have a network setup where my modem is connected to a router. The router is then connected to hub that provides lan connection in that particular room (a). THis hub is also linked to another hub in room b. hub b provides lan connection to room b. And lastly, there is a link from hub b to hub c in room c where this hub provides lan connectivity. However, my network cable connecting from room c to room b is damaged. I was thinkng of implementing a wireless router where it would be connected to the hub in room c. I do not want to connect the wireless router directly to the modem as I would like to keep the regular ethernet connection as well. It there any way I can do this and if so can you explain the steps necessary to configure this solution? Thanks!

You still need a wire connection to your wireless device from room b to c. You could put a wireless access point in room b that might offer you coverage in room c. If you need wired access in room c you could put in a wireless bridge to create a wireless point to point connection... all that being said, would probably be cheaper just to fix the wire.

Notice I did not say wireless router since their is no reason to route different networks inside your LAN, unless you just want to have more administrative work and something else to remember.
