I am trying to figure out how to login to a remote dc via vpn. I don't want the users to have to remember a bunch of steps. I cannot get the check box "use dial-up connection to login" at boot up to stay checked. I want to make an automated way for users to login. I would like for the vpn connection to automatically connect at login if possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

hi,
what o.s are you running?
if xp pro then it comes with a utility called rasdial.exe
you will need to create a batch file which calls this utiltiy and runs at the times you need to be specified.
you will need to enter the syntax for rasdial i.e
rasdial.exe "Name of VPN" username password /domain:domain name

nmorker
ccna, mcse

Thank you for your information. It was very helpful. Do you know where in the regisrty I would put rasdial.exe so the computer will dial the vpn at boot up instead of just at login?

Thanks

Sorry I left out that we are using xp pro
